Clerk Cindy Stuart was presented with a Special Recognition Award from the Hillsborough County 13th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee. This award was presented in recognition of our office’s Generous Jurors Program. This program was put into place to allow jurors to donate their daily compensation to a statutorily approved non-profit organization if their employer doesn't compensate them for jury duty.

Last year, jurors were able to donate over 40-thousand dollars to The Spring of Tampa Bay [external link], a local domestic violence shelter. This year, we are giving jurors the opportunity to donate their compensation to Voices for Children of Tampa Bay [external link]. This organization seeks to support children of the Hillsborough County Guardian ad Litem Program, recognizing the lack of funds necessary to meet the comprehensive needs of children navigating the dependency court system. This organization initiates many efforts to gather toys and essential items for children in need.
