The Clerk's Office has become aware of recent attempts by dishonest people to obtain personal identification information from Hillsborough County citizens, such as Social Security numbers and dates of birth.

These individuals identify themselves FALSELY as employees of the Hillsborough County Clerk of the Circuit Court Jury Services Department!  In this misrepresentation, they pretend to need your personal identification number for Jury Services.  What you need to know is this:

It is the policy of our office to notify all jurors by MAIL concerning their jury duty services.  We do not contact jurors by telephone or any other medium, such as electronic mail (email) or text messages.  Jury Services does NOT need your personal information such as your Social Security number or date of birth.  We are able to search for jury information by means legally available to our office.

If anyone does contact you claiming to be an employee of our Jury Services Department and asks for your Social Security number or any other personal identification information for Jury Services purposes, DO NOT provide this information.  Instead, immediately report the call and any information you may gather to your local law enforcement agency.
