The Traffic Department maintains all records pertaining to traffic citations issued to persons in Hillsborough County and all parking tickets issued by law enforcement agencies outside the Tampa city limits in Hillsborough County.

The Traffic Department collects payments and sets court dates on all traffic citations and county parking tickets.

If you are charged with a criminal traffic violation (DUI, driving with a suspended license, driving without a valid drivers license, etc.), you must contact the Traffic Department and set a court date within 10 days from the offense date.

If you are charged with a civil infraction (careless driving, speeding, etc.) you must do one of the following options within 30 days from the offense date:

  • Set a court date
  • Pay the fine
  • Elect to attend driving school to avoid points from being assessed, when applicable.  (Payment must be made at time of election)
