Appeals Department

The Appeals Department prepares and maintains Appeals for the County and Circuit Courts of the Clerk's office. The purpose of the appellate court is to provide a way of checking whether the trial judge followed the law. The appellate court does not listen to new evidence. It takes the decision of the jury or trial judge as to what the facts are and applies the law to those facts.
