The U.S. Department of State has authorized the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Hillsborough County to accept passport applications. The Clerk's Office cannot issue a U.S. passport. A passport can only be issued by the Department of State through regional passport offices. The Clerk's Office is a passport application acceptance agency. Appointments are required. Please be sure to bring at least two checks with you. Credit cards and cash are not acceptable at passport application acceptance agencies.
Fee Increase: Effective in 2010, the cost for a first-time passport and renewal for ages 16 and older is $110. A first-time passport or renewal for ages 15 and younger is $80. Fees have also increased for passport cards, used for land and sea travel between the United States and Mexico, Canada and a few other Western Hemisphere countries. A first-time passport card for an adult costs $30, and a renewal is $30. For minors, a passport card is $15, for first-time and renewal.

Payment to the U.S. Department of State may be made by check or money order only.
The payment of $25 (Passport Acceptance Fee) to the Clerk of the Circuit Court may be made by cash, check, money order, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover-3.5% service fee charged).
