Unclaimed funds held by the Clerk as County Comptroller are outstanding BOCC checks that have not cleared the bank. If a check was lost or destroyed, it may be replaced. Prior to replacing a check, we will verify that the funds have not been paid. There is a 30-day waiting period after a check has been issued to request a replacement. If the funds have been paid from the bank, the check will not be replaced. Replacement checks can only sent to the original owner of the funds. Checks dated more than 6 months old are no longer payable and must be replaced in order to be cashed.
