Marriage License Department

An independently elected official, the Clerk of Court & Comptroller is both Clerk to the County Courts and Comptroller to Hillsborough County. The Clerk is the official record keeper of the County's courts and has the responsibility for providing many support services that keep County's courts running smoothly.

 

The Clerk of the Circuit Court acts as an agent for the State of Florida for issuing licenses per Florida Statute 741. As a public service, our office also performs marriage ceremonies. The Marriage License Department is here to answer your questions concerning obtaining a marriage license in Hillsborough County.

 

Confidential information in court records

Our Tampa, Brandon, and Plant City locations have Wedding Ceremony spaces available. The Brandon Office can comfortably accommodate 6 guests and the Downtown Tampa and Plant City Offices can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests to celebrate the couple’s special day. Appointments for ceremonies are recommended but walk-ins are welcome.
